We heard from three very worthy organizations at our first meeting of Year Two.  Presentations were delivered by:

  • Hardisty and District Public Library – nominated by Prairie Sages Book Club #2 Team

Wow! We all loved Jim Gillespie from the Daysland Legion Cemetery Group. And his update of how their funds were used did not disappoint. The world needs more people like Jim!

Our nominees were: The Galahad Care Centre Women’s Auxiliary, the Friends of the Forestburg Fire Department and FIRST (Flagstaff’s Informed Response Sharing Team)

A cheque for $10,750 was awarded to the Forestburg Fire Department.

How absolutely fabulous to get out into the community and have the chance to present to these worthy organizations on behalf of you, the 100 Women+Who Care in Flagstaff County. We awarded $10,675.

Congratulations to:

*The Daysland Crocus Quilters, thank you to Marjorie Szott and all the ladies who came out to meet with Holly to receive the big cheque.

*Flagstaff Players Theatre Society, thank you to the members of the theatre group who are in the middle of a production at Sedgewick School.

*Canine Luv Dog Rescue, thanks to Deborah for meeting with Holly and she encourages everyone to follow Canine Love Dog Rescue Society where they are in the process of running a raffle.

*Spartans Volleyball Club, thanks to Kiana Piche for presenting the big cheque to her U18 team mates on behalf of our organization. We can also note that this picture holds three youth members, one member of a family team, one ambassador’s daughter and the granddaughter of one of our members. Thank you to our 100 Women members for setting the bar for the next generation!

What a fantastic evening in Lougheed! Congratulations to the Lougheed Field House who came away with the most votes to earn $10,575 for their organization. Karli Grove did an excellent presentation. Thank you to Janet Wolbeck on behalf of the Daysland Hospital Foundation and Ken Eshpeter on behalf of the Friends of the Battle River Railway. Many thanks to our Lougheed Ambassasdor, Loretta Oliver and Holly Bovencamp for doing such a great job organizing location, decorations, snacks, bar service, vendors and serving as excellent hosts for their community. Thank you to all the ladies who came tonight, we LOVED seeing you in person. Thank you, also to all the ladies who submitted proxy votes. I was a really nice evening and we can’t wait to see you in Hardisty on October 18 where we will begin year four!

What a night in Hardisty!

Thank you to everyone who made this night such a success, especially our Hardisty Ambassador, Julie Pasztor.

Congratulations to the Killam Parent Advisory Committee (presentation by Chelsea Neilson and Reid McKinnon) who took home a cheque for $10, 950 to fund all the appliances in Killam School’s new food lab.

Thank you to Nanette Jones, who presented for the Building Blocks Family Literacy Program and Janet Wolbeck, who presented for the Daysland Hospital Foundation.

Our 100 Women Who Care group of fabulous women has now given Flagstaff County organizations $155,840.00!

We also welcome 19 new members to our group, we continue to grow!

What a great night it was for the 100 Women Who Care Flagstaff County “Spring Split” in Galahad, where we split the pot of $10,850.00 in half, between two winning Flagstaff County groups.
Thank you to our women who travelled from all ends of Flagstaff County to attend our meeting and to all those who texted in their votes.

*Central High School Public School (Sedgewick School)
Thank you for excellent presentations from the Heisler Community Centre Association and Sedgewick Lake Park.
A huge thank you to our Galahad Ambassador, Elaine Kuefler and her crew of Galahad Girls for giving us such a great evening.
Huge thanks to the Galahad Agricultural Society for donating the Agriplex and thank you to Little Country Kitchen Cakes & Customs for the divine cookies. The tea and cookies and a visit with a friend were a nice touch to our evening.

We were threatened with high heat, we were threatened with rain, we were threatened with wind and what did we do? We had our meeting anyway and helped make Flagstaff County an even better place to live.

Happy Fifth Birthday to us!

WOW! Heisler knows how to put on a nice evening! Well done to Janice Badry, Kathy Kuntz, Vicky Zimmer and the entire Heisler Hall Board.

We celebrated our FIFTH birthday with a nice cake that was donated by the Wild Rose Co-op in Killam.

Thank you to the 70 women who travelled from all ends of Flagstaff County to attend our meeting and to all those who texted in their votes.

Our winner was the Killam and District Health Foundation to start their fundraising for cardiac monitoring equipment.

Share the love meeting

Our second meeting of YEAR FIVE did not disappoint. Tannis Ritchie Zimmel, our Strome Ambassador and her small but mighty group gave the 60+ women in attendance a lovely evening.

This was our “Share the Love” meeting where we split the pot of $11,350 four ways. We were delighted to hear from eight worthy organizations in Flagstaff County. Our group of fabulous women has now given organizations in our County $211,500 since we began in October 2019!

Our winners were:

* Knox United Church – Deanna Cox (free weekly spaghetti supper)

*Flagstaff Early Childhood Partnership – Jessica Docksteader

(providing free events to families in Flagstaff)

*Flagstaff Rural Crime Watch Society – Kim Cannady (multiple projects)

*Hardisty Ag Society – Anita Miller (building a ramp at Hardisty Lake for the disabled)

Thank you to the presenters from Forestburg’s Buckin in the Burg (Renee Stribbell,) the Lougheed Curling Club (Tyrion Rosiechuk), the Flagstaff Historical Society (Jeff Eckstrand) and the Lougheed Playschool (Kelsey Ness).

And a big thank you to April Terway of “From, Butter” for her donation of some AMAZING cupcakes.

A HUGE thank you to the Strome Ag Society for donating the use of their Community Hall for our meeting.
